Neovim

A fast, modal text editor that runs anywhere you have a terminal and bends to whatever workflow you build around it.

Neovim

About

Neovim keeps Vim's editing model and modernizes what sits underneath it, so the keystrokes you already know keep working. Configuration and plugins are written in Lua, and the built-in language server client and Tree-sitter parsing give you real code navigation, refactoring, and syntax awareness without a heavyweight IDE. It lives comfortably in a terminal next to a coding agent, over SSH on a remote box, or embedded inside another editor as the engine behind its Vim mode.

Highlights

  • Fully compatible with Vim's editing model, so existing muscle memory carries over
  • Lua configuration and plugins, with a versioned, documented API
  • Built-in LSP client and Tree-sitter parsing for code intelligence in the terminal
  • Works the same over SSH, in a tmux pane, or embedded in another editor
  • Free and open source, with an active community and plugin ecosystem
